With many of the regular players away for the summer, including El Pres & the Scribe, there were only 19 of us for the July game at the beautiful Sungai Long Golf & Country Club. With an efficient check in we all teed’ off on time from the 1st and the 10th tee boxes.
The course was in great condition, as it always seems to be at this course, with carpet-like fairways and fast but true greens.
Weather was nicely overcast making it a somewhat cool and pleasant afternoon. Only 15 players made it for dinner, the others missing out on a good choice of food, cool beers and good wine, provided by RICHARD RODWELL (our sponsor for the wine prize).
Results
The July medal winner was Paul Geddes with a score of 81 for 43 points (cut 7). Second on count back with 90 for 42 points was Helmut D (cut 2) with Ricardo Castro 3rd with 83 for 42 (cut 1). Special mention goes to Siggi Maierbrugger who recorded the best stableford score of the day with 81 for 45, but as a guest was ineligible for the tankard.

COTD
We had 4 nominations this month for COTD.
- Ron for deciding to leave for Jakarta and not play KLOGS next year
- Stuart for managing to lose 3 balls into the water at the Par 3 3rd hole
- Ted (Ted’s caddy) for picking up another players ball and not checking his errant 1st tee shot causing a big delay on the first hole
- Kaswira (and his “Chinese Mafia”) for instigating COTD awards against Ron
Kaswira was voted as COTD with his “Chinese Mafia”, but Ron Linden ended up drinking the beer.
