The August game was held at the beautiful Kota Permai Golf & Country Club which was in great condition. After a number of dropouts then late entries, 23 players including 1 guest (Thomas Stadler) teed-off on time with a two tee box start. The 1st flight just had time to (say) drive into the nearest bunker then chip out, or lose a ball off the tee and search for it when the sirens sounded due to lightning in the proximity and we all had to return to the clubhouse. Although the sky was very dark, in fact, there was no rain at the course and after ~ 30 minutes, play resumed. Towards the end of the round, it was darkening again and thunder was heard nearby, but the rain held off and all players completed their rounds by ~ 6-6.30pm.

After the game, we then made our way to the O&S Seafood restaurant, where we were joined by 4 guests (Richard Moss, Barry Cousins, Andrew Robinson, & George Murray), then enjoyed good food ordered by Barry, accompanied by numerous bottles of beer, plus good wines provided by Ricardo Castro (our sponsor for the wine prize). The only complaint about the food was that we could have done with more rice !! The evening wrapped up for most ~ 9pm.
Results
8 players bettered their handicaps; the August medal winner was Ted Parslow, with an excellent score of 86 for 43 (cut 7); Ted was having a good week as he also won the previous-days Loose Cannons game. - Tony – for apologizing for hitting up on flight in front (not happened before !)
- El Pres – for hitting up on flight in front

- Barry– for not ordering enough rice (sic), for wearing a dodgy Burberry shirt & for setting off at 5pm so as to be early
