KLOGS April game took a fresh look at the Garden Course of the Glenmarie Golf and Country Club in Shah Alam. KLOGS have not played this course in some time and it was a splendid re-introduction to what played as a lovely course.
Teeing off from tee box 1, all 3 flights made good time and finished in under 4.5 hours. Greens were true and running at about 9.5 to 10 on the Stimp meter. Following the game, KLOGGERS were off to one of our favorites, the Pantai Seafood Restoran for some much deserved refreshment and lunch.
Iain, aka Vice President of Vice, started proceedings in the absence of El Pres, who was still in Scotland visiting the ‘wee bairns’ and his wife. He sent his regards and apologies.
Iain thanked Joe Heggie for joining at the last minute to fill in for a late withdrawal and noted club abuse for breaking a club, Sigi for his golf ball sponsorship and Ricardo for supplying the wine. We welcomed Kevin KING to the group as a full member and acknowledged Andrew Robinson as a guest at lunch. (A regular if you didn’t already know)
It was a sad day for KLOGGERS to learn of the passing of one of our finest members, Barry Cousins after a lengthy battle with the big C. Barry passed away ON 18th April 2023.
Barry became a member of KLOGS in 2006 soon after re-locating from the UK to Malaysia. He was a regular playing member from 2006 onwards, a Committee member from 2009 and had two terms as the Scribe and during that time, penned the constitution.
Barry is remembered as a fine gentleman, a keen philatelist, an author, a member of Kota Permai Golf Club (where he was always able to help out with our bookings) and for the mischief he seemed always to be up to. The wry smile on his face was forever a reminder of this. Barry achieved honorary membership to KLOGS from 2020. RIP Barry.
NTP’s.
