A few words in conclusion:
Many thanks to my ‘helpers’ on the away:
- Dave E for carrying the KLOGS ‘away banner’ and ensuring prominently displayed each day at the venue.
- Tom and Rikki for checkking scores and especially formulating the optimum perceived scramble teams given 17 players.
- Moneybags for keeping a tight rein on the ‘Purse Strings’ – consider the ‘whips’ were spot on and total very good value for money, we had a short overall deficit of 48 RM at the end of the day for the whole tour – TQ Iain
- Simon (Liberty Travel) for ensuring all went smoothly at all venues along with his selection of excellent transportation, driver and guide.
and lastly:
for all attendees for being punctual on the bus at all times and especially those ‘overseas’ KLOGGERS’ who continue to make the journey fro wherever they come from without whom i consider the KLOGS Aways would not be as successful as they are.

DAY 1 GOLF – PHOKEETHRA COUNTRY CLUB
What an arrival – caddies lined up with our full names on the backs of their tops (a shame this was not Horse and Jockey Day!!!!!!!!!!!)
VERY GOOD COURSE CONDITION, weather great, F&B very good at the clubhouse
BERNIE winner of the NOVEMBER MONTHLY MEDAL and Tankard- a great 85 gross/39 points
COTD: EL PRES – for various misdemeanours including a complete ‘cock-up’ with the distribution of the free sleeve of balls as donated by Simon of Liberty Travels and for being asleep before 9 p.m. on an away!
DAY 2&3 GOLF – ANGKOR GOLF RESORT (Nick Faldo design)
Again from our arrival to departure – first class service at this venue
EXCELLENT COURSE CONDITION, weather great, F&B at the clubhouse excellent too
DAY 2:
PIETRO (hustler) MARTUCCI clear winner of Day 1 of the 2 day away championship with a magnificent 85 gross for 44 points (this ‘magical’ achievement after shooting 105 for 23 points on the previous day!)
COTD: EL PRES – for watching the ‘BLUES BROTHERS’ Movie on the away in his room at the hotel (now you may begin to wonder if there is a ‘COTD Conspiracy’ afoot here given Pietro’s handicap does not get cut for December!)
DAY 3:
PIETRO (hustler) MARTUCCI takes the 2 day away championship Tankard with another amazing 88 gross for 41 points (Pietro states to me “i only getta the 41 points a this a time”!
Now at this juncture you may consider Pietro must be a clear favourite for COTD………………………….
COTD: EL PRES – for being sober on the away (and as a consequence RIKKI INGHAM looked more sober than anyone could remember ever seeing him on an away whilst getting on the bus the next morning!!!!!)
DAY 4 GOLF – BOOYOUNG GC
Final course for the scramble
not as good in condition as the other courses, very hot weather, F&B adequate (if you like Korean crap!)
WINNERS of Team Scramble: TOM, ROGER & COLM with a magnificent GROSS 67 off a zero H/C
COTT: EL PRES – Automatic selection decreed by all those present with the exception of one participant (Allan Wright)
