Scribe Report
March, 2013
Kelab Rahman Putra Malaysia

This course has been a KLOGS favourite for many years. 16 KLOGS members and guests enjoyed a great golf afternoon. As usual, the club organised the event very well. The course was in good nick – especially the greens and it remains a tough course, as reflected in the scores. Although storm clouds circled all afternoon the siren only went off when the last flight was putting out on the 18th. This is a club that should remain a fixture on the Klogs schedule. The very reasonably priced beer and house wine is a bonus.
As can be seen from the score table only five players broke 100 and the winning Stableford points were in the low 30’s. The winner Philippe Hamon – who I know hits it a mile – is proof that Frenchmen can play excellent golf. Jimmy Legget, probably wearing his signature luminous shorts, came in a credible second and Ray Funnel rounded off the leader board. It should be noted that last month’s winner Bernhard Romahn showed his form by carding the lowest gross.

As mentioned the booze was very reasonably priced. I therefore regret to inform the membership that no record of NTP’s and LD as well as the COTD nominations and award ever reached the Scribe who was absent from the proceedings. Perhaps Raymond Keys who can’t be thanked enough for maintaining KLOGS Blog can fill in the blanks. Read it there. If any of you took some Photos please forward them to Raymond in jpg format.
After the game El Pres welcomed the guests and thanked our sponsors Old Club House, Wines Direct and City Golf. We would also like to thank Robert Frager and his team at the Renaissance Hotel Kuala Lumpur for once again sponsoring the KLOGS golf balls that make up a lot of the monthly prizes. Robert presented us with a cheque for RM3k which covers the golf balls for the year and on behalf of us all at KLOGS I would like to thank him; much appreciated
The April game on the 17th APRIL will be at Perangsang Templer. That’s the one the GPS says “turn right” at the tee-junction. Post golf festivities will be at a nearby restaurant which has been well recce’d.
El Pres has invited the membership to participate in the May Away is which will be held on Thailand’s Eastern Seaboard due to the mild climate and enticing topographies.
