16 KLOGS members teed off on the “new” Bunga Raya course with a two tee box start. Most of us found the undulating greens particularly challenging. Personally I was disappointed with the appearance of Bunga Raya course. It certainly needs TLC and does not live up to past accolades.
The results of the day were again rather mixed with some brilliant rounds by Des, Karl and John Laidley. There were some good scores in the 90’s while the rest of us were in triple figures. The results are:
- 1st place: Des Hassan 82 gross 39 points cut 4
- 2nd place: Karl Muir 85 gross 37 points cut 2
- 3rd place: Stuart Taylor 100 gross 36 points cut 1 (ocb)
- NTP front nine: John Arkinstall
- NTP back nine: Des Hassan
- Longest Drive: Klaus Kretzschmar
- Last Birdie: John A. and Des (had other prizes)
- Lowest Gross: John L. (Des and Karl being on the leader-board)
The results are as follows:

Richard Moss and Andrew Robinson had made reservations in the Lala Chong Restaurant in Damansara Ara about 1.8km away for Saujana. This venue proved too difficult to find for 6 members who chose to go home, while a few others had extensive sightseeing in the general area before showing up.
Since the menu catered for 16 there was ample food for those who made it to Lala Chong. The consensus was that the meal was one of the finest meals in recent times.

After the prize-giving El Pres called for COTD nominations:
- Andrew Barber: For commenting on the size of his caddie and thinking of using her as a tee
- Tony Morris: For hastily putting out and then running off to the toilet with only “windy” results but scared of a possible follow-through.
- Andrew Robinson: For wearing a reddish outfit very similar to the caddies
- Andrew Barber: For being a smart cunt (for what I can’t remember)
- John Arkinstall: For sitting in the wrong buggy and breaking wind
- Richard Moss & Andrew Robinson: Jointly for distributing a totally screwed up map to the dinner venue.
Richard & Andrew were voted in unanimously.
El Pres mentioned that preparations for the November Away are under way. Indications are that Siem Reap will be the destination. Rick Brown is organizing a recce tour in August and is asking for anyone interested to join.
As always our gratitude goes to our sponsors Ye Old Club House, Wines Direct, City Golf and Robert Frager.
