👋 Guests & Joining ▸

No joining fee RM100 yearly subscription

Guests can join after 3 games, at least one of them with a committee member, before joining.

Guests can’t win 1st, 2nd, 3rd place or COTD on the monthly game — they’re eligible for every other monthly prize. Same rule applies on the Day 1 monthly trophy game during away trips.

💰 Monthly Game Fee ▸

RM350–RM400 per game — dependent on venue.

Guests and members pay the same.

Yearly membership subscription is RM100, payable each January.

🏆 Monthly Game Prizes ▸

Same prize structure applies to Day 1 of away trips.

  • 🥇 1st place — Pewter tankard
  • 🥈 2nd place — Bottle of wine
  • 🥉 3rd place — Sleeve of balls
  • 4 NTP holes — Sleeve of balls
  • Lowest gross — Sleeve of balls
  • Last birdie — Sleeve of balls
  • 🤡 COTD — Glass of beer with a ball in it, downed in one (plus 2 balls from the sleeve)

What goes out each game

1 tankard · 1 bottle of wine · 8 sleeves of balls.

Handicaps & handicap cuts

At the start of each year, all handicaps are reset to the player’s official handicap.

  • Winner: cut 4, plus an additional cut for every point scored over 40 — capped at 4 below the player’s official handicap
  • Second: cut 2
  • Third: cut 1
  • All other players not winning: +1 shot, up to a maximum of 4 above their official handicap

Ties are broken by countback: back 9, then back 6, then back 3, then 18th/17th/16th holes in order.

Guests still can’t win 1st, 2nd, 3rd or COTD. No more than one prize (the best one) can go to a single person — the only exception is COTD, which stacks with everything else.
💰 Fines ▸

RM50 (a jug of beer) — maximum 2 fines per game (RM100).

  • Not wearing the society shirt
  • Using or receiving a mobile phone call on the course
  • Failing to pass the ladies’ tee box — this also includes going out of bounds or losing your ball off the tee
  • Any other misdemeanour the El Pres is made aware of and considers fine-worthy
Cheating gets a written warning from any committee member who’s told about it. Three warnings and you’re out of the society.
✈️ Tours & Aways ▸

Usually May and November. 4 rounds of golf over 4 days.

Day 1 — Monthly Trophy Game

Same rules as a normal home game (guests still can’t win 1st, 2nd, 3rd or COTD). Outgoing prizes: 1 tankard, 1 bottle of wine, 8 sleeves of balls.

Reminder: pick the Horse & Jockey draw before Day 2.

Day 2 — Away Championship, Round 1

Handicaps are set fresh from the Day 1 result. Winner gets a trophy (a golf shirt at the club, where possible) and it’s also the first day of Horse & Jockey.

Day 3 — Away Championship, Round 2

Trophy goes to the 2-day overall winner. Horse & Jockey purse: 60% to 1st place, 40% to 13th place (exact position depends on tour numbers).

Day 4 — Money/Team Game

2-ball scramble, 4 drives each (may be modified depending on numbers), including par 3s. Purse split 60% to the winning team, 40% to the runners-up.

Teams are balanced so that, effectively, everyone plays off scratch.

🎭 COTY ▸

Decided by secret email vote, with the winner announced at the AGM.

⛳ Klogger of the Year ▸

Best Stableford points total across your best 6 games of the year. Play more than 6, and your lowest scores get dropped from the count.

🍺 Yearly Attendance ▸

Players who play more than 8 games during the year receive a bottle of wine at the AGM game.
