We had an excellent dinner at the club which was marred only by the fact that our absent Moneybags had (again!) not made arrangements for the wine. The backlog of those who are owed a bottle is ever increasing.

El Pres stared his spiel by welcoming the three guests. He then gave a blow by blow account why our sponsors could not attend. We are however as always very grateful to the sponsors being Ye Old Club House, Wines Direct, City Golf and Robert Frager.

The November Away is firming up and the destination will almost certainly be Siem Riep.

The call for COTD nominations yielded four nominations:

  • John Preston: For attempting to increase the day’s fees
  • Karl Muir: For making a fashion statement with his Calvin Klein briefs (as an aside the German word “klein” means small)
  • Stuart Taylor: Klaus walking in front of Stuart dropped his glove. Stuart bent down to retrieve pick up the glove. A surprised cry ensued when to Allan McNicoll bumped into the bent over Stuart. You get the picture.
  • Klaus Kretzschmar: For allegedly stealing Allan’s honour on some tee box

Stuart was crowned COTD (although Allan did have a share in this)
