Nineteen Players turned up for the AGM game at KGSAAS, despite the recent rain the course was in fair condition. With a two tee box start we were all finished by 6 O’clock. The scoring for the day was reasonable, playing off the white tees which in most cases were coincident with the ladies tees, this resulted in only 2 jugs Allan Wright and Manfred guest of Robert Frager.
The post game dinner was taken at Pantai Seafood restaurant where we were joined by 3 members who hadn’t played.
The results for the day were announced as follows:
  • 1st place: Paul Geddes 80 gross 43 points ocb (cut 7)
  • 2nd place: Robert Frager 89 gross 43 points (cut 2)
  • 3rd place: Bernhard Romahn 87 gross 39 points (cut 1)
  • NTP front nine: Richard Rodwell
  • NTP back nine: Tom Holmes
  • Longest Drive: Dan Brod 238 metres
  • Last Birdie: Bernie Schobert
  • Lowest Gross: Paul Geddes 80
The full results are as follows:

Old shirts were sold off jumble sale style to raise some fund for the diminished treasury
For COTD there were three nominations:
  • Richard Rodwell – screwing up on the LD hole 9th hole
  • Paul Geddes – on the 18th having already scoring 43 points making a complete hash of the last hole and scoring a 7 (stewards enquiry pending further handicap cut).
  • El Pres for recording the scores on the wrong nine and taking 7 holes to notice the mistake.
El Pres took the award.

Following the dinner the AGM was held.
El Pres welcomed our guest Manfred and thanked our loyal sponsors Old Club House, Wines Direct (Richard Rodwell) and Renaissance Hotel (Robert Frager)

El Pres gave a short review of the year which included the aways. He thanked those that had stood in for him during his extended summer holiday. The society over the year had 40 members and 14 guest rounds. He encouraged members to bring guests along to keep the membership healthy. He also encouraged members to go on the aways. He wished a speedy recovery for those members that had been ill over the year. Money Bags presented the annual financial accounts. All supporting documents are kept as if to be audited. The accounts for 2015 were approved by the membership. These showed on the year a decrease of nearly 4,000 Rm on the year. After some discussion it was agreed that the game fees would be increased to 300Rm for members and 350Rm for guests the yearly subscription remaining at 100Rm.
El Pres gave bottles of wine to those members who had played 8 games or more. Martin Walsh (8) Rick Brown (8) Mike Smith (9) Stuart Taylor (9) Allan Wight (10) Richard Rodwell (10) & Iain Wise (11).
Screen Shot 2016-01-23 at 2.46.05 PM
The Klogger of the year went to Stuart Taylor who scored 329 points from 9 rounds.
Stuart was also the winner of the society’s most prestigious award COTY.

Election for the new committee then took place. After a secret ballot for the position of El Pres Allan Wright was elected beating the scribe in a close contest by 12 votes to 11. Stuart Taylor took up the Scribe position and Iain agreed to do Moneybags.

Our sponsors are a main reason that we can play at good golf courses and award members with trophies, attractive prizes as well as “KLOGS” signature golf balls. In order to show our appreciation we encourage members to support our sponsors.
