Our June 2023 game took place at a much liked and relatively new course, Kota Seriemas Golf and Country Club. It’s a long drive from KL but ultimately worth it because this course is challenging but very enjoyable.
After a huge night watching Scotland win over Georgia, without any sleep, El Pres waltzed into the clubhouse regaling everyone with some Scottish ditty and chugging a can of Tiger, at a dry club no less. For him to even front up for the game was an amazing feat, but then teeing off and having a decent round as well…..
Four flights teed off from both the 1st and 10th holes meaning we all finished within 15 minutes of each other and under 4.5 hours. The greens were quite quick at 9 feet on the stimp meter but somewhat unpredictable and inconsistent. Generally, the golf course was in very good condition and the weather, albeit hot, remained dry with a stiff wind.
Following the game, most of us retired to Restoran East of Highway for some cold ale, good food and welcome camaraderie. Life members, Andrew Robinson and Richard Moss joined us for lunch and the presentation.
Unfortunately, all photos of the presentation were inadvertently lost so apologies to anyone who wanted to see their picture in this report.

COTD:
Many nominations on the day but for only two individuals.
Geoff was nominated by Richard for,
a) throwing a club further than his drive (yawn),
b) generally losing it! (yawn – something about a locker too), and
c) responding negatively to Thomas telling him he’d just hit a beautiful shot with a driver off the deck moments after Geoff just fluffed his own shot.
Paul was nominated for,
a) going into the club with a full can of beer while singing a Scottish football song. (While this is a dry club),
b) bringing the wrong trophy to the day (November Away trophy), and
c) chundering on the course and afterwards.
Paul won COTD on countback!!!
Costs are going up at all courses in KL and we are trying to find the best deals to avoid any cost increases for our members. However, it won’t be long before we have to look at the finances again and a small increase envisaged.
Of course, without our sponsors and their contributions we would be unable to continue as we are. Thanks to Siggy for sponsoring the golf ball prizes and to Ricardo for his continued donations of wine for the prizes and our enjoyment.
