Kota Permai Golf & Country Club
16th April, 2014

The April game was held at the prestigious Kota Permai Golf & Country Club. This is a truly first class venue, well maintained and challenging in all aspects. The small surcharge to the usual members fee was well worth it. Thank you to Simon Ng, Liberty Travel, for organising the event.
With two late withdrawals 14 members and 4 guests teed off on time. The weather was excellent, although there was a brief threat of a thunderstorm. The fairways were in good condition. On certain holes, the grass has been cut so that there was a fair amount of hay. The greens were very fast and caused many a 3 or even 4 putt. Birdie opportunities were quickly turned into bogeys or worse. Bunkers, some with steep faces caused some grief as well.

The results at the end of the day showed that only 8 players broke 100. The majority made sure that they played lots of golf in the 3 digit range.
The results of the day are as follows:
- 1st – Allan McNicoll with 96 for 36 points (ocb) – Guest Dan Brod had a 91 for 37 points
- 2nd – John Arkinstall 94 for 36 points (ocb)
- 3rd – Karl Muir 86 for 36 (ocb)
- NTP front nine – Stuart Taylor
- NTP back nine – Also Stuart Taylor but can’t win. (Andrew was next)
- Longest Drive – Allan McNicoll but can’t win (Enzo was next)
- Lowest gross – El Pres with 86 (but the sleeve of balls went to Paul Geddes with 88)
- Last Birdie – John Arkinstall

El Pres welcomed the guests. Ron has now played 3 times with KLOGS and was invited to join. El Pres then thanked the sponsors mentioned below.
13 players have sofar committed to the May Away in Chiang Mai. We need 16 to keep the tour ground package at RM 2,070. Those who have not yet decided, please do so asap and email confirmation to El Pres karl@concorde.net. The tour group will be led by VP Rick Brown, due to the fact that El Pres has a serious conflict in his social calendar.
There were four COTD nominations:
• Rick Brown for putting several times across a green causing the caddie to say “Sir we dont have time for this”.
• El Pres for coming in 3rd after multiple 3 putts.
• Dan for claiming the male caddie “came in his face”.
• Ron for not knowing what COTD means.
Dan received the COTD honour.

The Scribe extends a big thank you to Stuart Taylor, HighlanderImages Photography, for contributing the excellent photos.
Moneybags is still conducting a clearance sale for high quality KLOGS shirts (see attached sheet)
