Staffield Country Resort

Thursday 17th September 2015

The dirty dozen braved the elements for the September game which was played at Staffield Golf and Country Resort. Considering the prolonged rain the course was in remarkably good condition. With only 3 flights and the course empty we teed off in persistent drizzle shortly after 1:00pm and got round at a leisurely pace and were all back at the club house before 6-00pm Dinner was taken at the Restoran East of Highway near to the Sungai Besi toll, all players arriving in good time before 7-00pm. As usual a good meal accompanied by some excellent red wine was enjoyed by all. It was good to welcome back Andrew Robinson after his extended stay in the UK. Also pleasing to see Allan McNicoll back on holiday from South Africa and a warm welcome to Franz, hope to be seen on a regular basis.

The results of the day were as follows:

• 1st – The Scribe Iain Wise 92 for 42 points (cut 6).
• 2nd – Allan McNicoll 95 for 40 points (cut 2). (Allan kindly donated his bottle of wine to the group)
• 3rd – Mike Smith 95 for 38 points ocb (cut 1) sleeve of balls
• NTP front nine – sleeve of balls – Allan McNicoll NTP back nine – sleeve of balls Richard Moss
• (Both NTP’s being won by being the only shots on the green and both at over 50 feet from the pin a new
• record.)
• Longest Drive – Enzo Filini 222m – sleeve of balls Lowest gross – Stuart Taylor 86 sleeve of balls
• Last Birdie –was awarded to Barry Cousins for having a par free round

There was one jug – Richard Rodwell.

Fines – Inventive

• Allan McNicoll Iain Wise for artificial knee enhancements -20Rm.
• Andrew Robinson & Robert Frager for incorrect scorecard returns -20Rm.
• Enzo – fee for arranging his flight 50Rm.
• Robert Frager for e-mailing the scribe to check whether the game was still on 20Rm.
• Ron Lindon -20Rm as down payment in case he was fined.

COTD nominations:-

• Stuart Taylor for an air shot on the 10th hole
• Richard Rodwell for taking too long to nominate Stuart Taylor
• All Kloggers for at sometime matching the photo and being Sh1t on the Green

• Stuart Taylor for not understanding the output from a swiftlet farm
• After a rigged vote Stuart Taylor was awarded COTD making it a hatrick of Kloggs awards over the last 3 months. Well done Stuart

The November away will be held in Kanchanaburi Thailand (Bridge on the River Kwai) 18th to 22nd November 2015. Twelve players confirmed to date, plenty space for more however due to Thai holidays hotel rooms are short so contact El Pres promptly if you wish to go. El Prez will be back with us next month.
