Scribe Report
Tasik Puteri
Wednesday 19th August 2015

Eleven players turned up for the August game which was held at Tasik Puteri. The ever threatening rain never materialised and we enjoy a good afternoon’s golf in pleasant conditions. With only 3 flights and the course not busy we got round at a leisurely pace and were all back at the club house before 5-45pm Dinner was taken at the club where we enjoyed a good meal accompanied by some excellent red wine. A big thanks to Stuart Taylor for doing all the arrangements with the club in the absence of El Pres.
The results of the day were as follows:
- 1st – Stuart Taylor 82 for 42 points (cut 6) back to back wins The stewards are looking into the handicap of this runner further adjustment may be necessary. Watch this space.
- 2nd – Richard Rodwell 86 for 41 points (ocb) (cut 2). (Richard kindly donated his bottle of wine to the highest gross scorer Ray Funnell)
- 3rd – Paul Geddes 81 for 41 points (cut 1) sleeve of balls
- NTP front nine – sleeve of balls – Richard Rodwell
- NTP back nine – sleeve of balls Mike Smith
- Longest Drive – Paul Geddes – sleeve of balls
- Lowest gross – Geoff McLaws 86 sleeve of balls
- Last Birdie – Stuart Taylor and Geoff McLaws shared a sleeve
Fines – Miserly
For the second month running there were no Jugs. Geoff McLaws was fined 20 Rm for persistent caddie abuse. Paul Geddes was fined 2 x 50Rm for twice bouncing his drive before the Ladies tee box. This was however settled by the scribe who owed Paul 100Rm from a bet on the May General Election, the Scottish Nationalist having obtained more than 40 seats. The scribe 20 Rm for failing to fill the winners mug with beer.
The full results being:

COTD nominations:-
- Allan Wright for hacking his way to the apron and then proclaiming that he had now taken 4
- Geoff McLaws self nomination for persistent caddy abuse and winning the club throwing competition
- The Scribe, standing in for El Pres failing to fill the winners tankard
- Richard Rodwell for reaching the apron on a par 5 for 2then duffing his eagle chip and 2 putting for a 5.
- Ray Funnell for hitting his tee shot into the water on the short par 3, then declining to drop his ball on the designated mat, instead dropping the ball behind it and then hitting the mat with his next shot. The tale was well told by Rick Brown. Ray was duly awarded the COTD.
As the third Wednesday in September coincides with Malaysia Day it was agreed that game would be played on Thursday the 17th September instead.
El Pres has issued an e-mail on 3 possible locations for the November Away, 2 locations in Cambodia Phnom Penh or Siem Reap, and Kanchanaburi in Thailand, a new venue. Further update will follow shortly.
