The July game was held at Tasik Puteri, playing the Puteri & Tasik nines. 20 players including our returning El Pres (Iain Wise) plus 2 guests (Martin Belderink, a familiar face at Loose Cannons events & Stephen Eldridge) teed-off on time with a two tee box start; the caddies caught up later and got mixed reviews !
The course itself was generally in reasonable condition though greens were rather slow; fairways were very dry so balls ran a long way, probably contributing to the good scores recorded by many players.

The weather remained fine throughout and progress by all was generally good so everyone was finished by 6.30pm, and ready for a feast on the golfers terrace. Staff there were a little too efficient and kept trying to bring out the food before everyone had arrived so had to be educated, but apart from that, the food was good and a pleasant evening was had by all, helped down by numerous jugs plus good wines provided by RICHARD RODWELL (our sponsor for the wine prize). The evening wrapped up for most ~ 8.30pm.

Results
Given the favourable playing conditions mentioned above, the top eight players equaled or bettered their handicaps. The July medal winner was El Pres himself, obviously refreshed by his trip to Blighty, with an impressive score of 91 for 44 (cut 8 !). Second was Roger McG with 94 for 42 (cut 2) then third being decided on countback on the last 6 holes, in favour of Stan with 93 for 41 (cut 1).

COTD
We had 5 nominations this month for COTD.
- Stan – for trying a brave shot across water and failing when a lay-up would have won
- El Pres – for chasing Ricardo for the tape measures when he had them all the time
- Ron – for asking which two courses we were playing – then mentioning that Putera was closed
- Franz – For getting his buggy stuck on a kerb, abusing then misdirecting the caddy, for being last to arrive (late) and not wearing a KLOGs shirt
- Geoff – for throwing a club then driving off without it
Given the sheer volume of his misdemeanors, the result was a foregone conclusion….
Franz was unanimously voted as COTD
Fines
One honesty jug this month (Franz for 2 balls off the tee and his late arrival)
