Scribe Report
KGSAAS
20th August 2014

KGSAAS has always been very good on the admin side. This time however, they managed to screw-up the batting order. Although acting El Pres had given clear written instructions, the starter became creative, mixing up names and flights.
We started reasonably on time, although one member, not to be mentioned, stretched the Malaysian “on the way” to its limit. With a multi-teebox start, proceedings began from the blue. This proved to be a challenge for most, especially since some of the blue tee boxes were in fact on the black. The course, playing very long, was generally in good condition. The light sanding of the greens did not really impact putting. The third hole on Alam Shah proved to be a real moneymaker. The lady’s tee is some 150m uphill from the blue/black teebox. Some of us did manage to stay short. Moneybags thanks all those who paid “honesty jugs”.
15 KLOGS members and 4 guests enjoyed the day at KGSAAS.
The results of the day are as follows:
- 1st – Paul Geddes with 87 for 39 points (cut 4)
- 2nd – Bernhard Romahn 86 for 37 points (cut 2)
- 3rd – Dan Brod 94 for 36 points (cut 1)
- NTP front nine – Geoff Mclaws 16ft
- NTP back nine – Philippe Hamon 17’11”ft
- Longest Drive – Dan Brod 197m
- Lowest gross – Bernhard Romahn 86
- Last Birdie – yes, somebody
Honesty Jugs: 10 (this must be a record)

The full results are:

We had an excellent dinner at The Empress Garden Chinese restaurant. Acting El Pres welcomed the guests and thanked them for their support.
The guest from South Africa, Richard Parr has played with us three times. He signed up as an overseas member. Welcome Richard! We look forward to seeing you on an Away or on your next Preston hunt.
The next Away will most likely be either in Hua Hin or Phnom Penh. Acting El Pres, sparing no expense, will do a recce to Phnom Penh next week.
Prizes for 1st place (Old Club House rescue wood voucher), 2nd a bottle of fine red wine and a sleeve of balls for 3rd were given away. The novelty prizes were thrown to the winners as is customary.

There were only two COTD nominations:
- Dan for have his balls wacked by his caddie
- John Arkinstall for telling the story in such a soft voice that nobody heard it.
John took the honours and downed the COTD beer.
The next KLOGS game on Wednesday 17th September will be at Nilai Springs. Please mark in your calendar.
