Scribe Report
Tasik Puteri Golf & Country Club
18th June 2014

Tasik Puteri has always been one of the perennial favourites, due to its realtively close proximity to KL and supposedly benign nature.
12 KLOGS members and 3 guests enjoyed a game of golf in excellent weather. We had asked for a 2 tee box start on the Putra and Puteri nines. Upon registration, we were told, that Puteri was closed, so we had to also play on the dreaded Tasik nine. In addition, there was another competition slated for the same tee-off time. This meant that all 4 flights had to start on Tasik. Our event was really a tale of 2 nines. Tasik was in dreadful shape with uncut and patchy fairways. The rough was more like the US Open waste land. The greens were OK, but not great. Scoring well on Tasik proved to be difficult and caused some frustration. The second Putra nine was in excellent condition, making scoring much easier. I must mention that John Arkinstall injured his back in the changing room and could not play. He will be compensated for the green fee at the next event.
The results of the day are as follows:
- 1st – Andrew Barber with 92 for 44 points (Cut 4+4 = 8)
- 2nd – Klaus Kretzschmar 94 for 39 points (equal with guest Dan Brod)
- 3rd – Iain Wise 97 for 38 (since Dan as a guest cannot be on the podium)
- NTP front nine – Iain Wise
- NTP back nine – Richard Rodwell
- Longest Drive – Robert Frager
- Lowest gross – Paul Geddes 88
- Last Birdie – Enzo Filoni
Honesty Jugs: none

In the absence of El Pres, VP Rick Brown and Moneybags Andrew Robinson your Scribe welcomed the guests. Andrew Barber will work on guest Ray Bonner, who is a New York Times journalist to put KLOGS on the front page. After a few words on the poor condition of the Tasik nine the prize giving went off smoothly with Andrew Barber taking the top spot. He had to leave early so he will receive the winners mug next time and will have to drain two fillings.
Dan Brod kindly donated a stuffed Asian Tiger and a towel. The Tiger went to Roddy Foo for his ferocious attack on Tasik. The towel went to Allan McNicoll, who kindly stepped in to assist the Scribe during registration and the prize giving.
Having completed 3 games with KLOGS we welcomed two new members being Dan Brod and Enzo Filoni.
There were COTD nominations but multiple minor infracttions accumulated to the consensus that Roger McGowan should take the COTD honour. We all wish Roger well on his overseas travels during the next 3 months.
Dinner was taken at the club and in my opinion not bad at all. The consumption of wine and beer was kept in limits.

The Scribe extends a thank you to Enzo Filoni for contributing an excellent photo of a KLOGS fisherman:
