The Day’s Play
The Glenmarie Courses are always a treat to play and the September game for KLOGS was no different, even with a reduced field of 17 brave warriors. The course had improved from a few weeks earlier but still had some damaged greens in parts — I think the only time I have seen a green being GUR. But it was the same for all and fun was had. There were a few good scores and some golfers who got extremely good value for money per shot.
The day started a little hazy (the weather), although there were a few who seemed to bring their own hazy views from the night before. Our VP screwed the flights with a 3 ball following 2 x four balls rather than having 3 x 3 balls from one tee box. A special thank you to the flight in front of us for allowing us to play through after 15 holes! Come back Chez, we need you!
The Valley Course always offers some great views and it is hard to imagine so many ups and downs in deepest darkest Subang Jaya. And once the breeze started, the haze buggered off and the day was great for the September game.

A favourite with many, 12 Roads, provided a good lunch and a loud and raucous time ensued. We need some other restaurant options for Glenmarie games, so the suggestion box is open.
Just sharing this little bit of course damage caused by David E’s first drive of the day that smashed into the bridge on hole 10 before pinballing its way across to end on the fairway. The club are not expecting a substantial repair bill.

PLACINGS
It’s good to see a close race for the top positions, and well done Alistair for the lowest gross of 77 for 38 points — but losing out to Rob B.

Personally pleasing to see these winners being cut 4, 2 and 1 shot for the next game before the gradual climb back. Ken, please take note that this cut also applies when we play head to head at Templar.
Ken had a great game with his 40 point haul, however he let himself down, he let the KLOGS golfing fraternity down and possibly let down the entire convict nation of Australia with his beer drinking inabilities, earning a strong COTD nomination. If he looks a little blurred in the photo, that’s because he was a little blurred after his “near drowning” with his tankard of fine chilled lager beer.

It was a fairly unanimous vote for Ken being COTD, and again he drank it like a girl. Now known as the “Shame of Australia”.
Steve with his hat looking every bit of a fine Englishman, and Stan receiving his “Honesty” award for correcting his handicap. It’s a first for KLOGS and it’s a first for an Australian to get an honesty anything.
